Howdy! I’d like to write a review of the harness and lead I’ve been using for Mr Blunden. I wanted something light and durable but that would provide good control and safety; my search lead me to the Ezydog Quick … Continue reading
I recently saw a nail stamping set in a pound shop but I didn’t like the designs so I didn’t buy it… but it planted a seed and I started looking into nail stamping.
I’m going to do another post about the nail plates I’ve purchased but today I’m going to write about 1 in particular. The Moyou Explorer Collection plate 21.
Image taken from the Moyou site as I had used mine before I realised I hadn’t taken a picture yet!
It cost me £4.99 and I bought it from the Moyou site directly, they do sell on Amazon as well. This Moyou plate caught my eye because of the lotus flower and Om symbol designs, I’m very interested in Buddhism and it is something I try to incorporate into my daily life.
Anyway, onto the nails! I used OPI Suzi Skies In The Pyrenees as the base colour and Models Own Chrome Rose Gold for the stamps. I purchased a Konad stamper for £6 from Amazon which has worked really well.
Image taken from the Konad site!
I really need to practise my placement! I love the lotus flower and Om symbol so much!!!
Here’s a Buddha – I *think* this might be a Thai Buddha, I need to look it up – please leave a comment if you know otherwise 🙂
This is my right hand, I got the Om symbol a bit closer to the middle but it’s still off. I think the leaf designs on the baby finger came out really well!
Last one – a wonky lotus flower 😂
I definitely need to practise stamping but I’m actually really pleased and impressed with how these have come out!
Do you like to stamp your nails? Any favourite plates or tips and tricks? Let me know 🙂
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,100 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 18 trips to carry that many people.
He’s here, he’s here!!! My beautiful cockapoo puppy is here!
He’s 7 weeks old and I’ve named him Mr Blunden! He’s named after the eponymous character in a British 70s children’s film about ghosts. You can read about it here (although I thoroughly recommend you find it to watch!).
Mr Blunden is settling in really well; he goes into his basket at night and doesn’t cry or whine (touch wood), he’s pad trained and manages to go to the toilet on the pad most of the time. Totoro was a bit wary of him and hissed a couple of times but is slowly getting braver and coming closer; I think they will get on fine together ^_^
I’m so in love with him, he cuddles and plays and is everything I wished for. I’m so lucky that The Captain agreed to having one, and that my Mum allowed us to bring him into her home ^_^
Here’s some more photos – I can’t stop taking them ^_^
Mr Blunden you have stolen my heart!
We have an imminent arrival…
We haven’t decided on a name a yet – answers on a postcard!
It’s a boy and comes home in 2 weeks and I cannot wait!!! I’m so impulsive, 1 week after deciding I’d seriously like a dog I have one coming to live with us! That’s not to say it is a rush decision or one taken lightly.
Here he is again
He’s used to cats and other dogs, so I’m hoping introducing him to Totoro will go ok!
If anyone has any tips or experiences on introducing a puppy into a cat home I’d love to hear them!
Today’s post is a mix of before and after my hair cut and an OOTD ^_^
I’m wearing the Birdy Tea Dress by Hell Bunny which I bought from the amazing Audrey Star’s Boutique: http://www.audreystarsboutique.com
On my feet are my Ornament Swedish Hasbeens ^_^
I put my hair up with my Goody Modern Updo pin.
Here’s a couple of pictures of my hair using the pin. It’s a curved U-shaped pin; I twist my hair into a loose bun, insert the pin curving outwards, bring over to the other side and push in. It’s so quick and easy and I think looks really good!
The Captain and I then travelled into Soho and I had my hair cut at It’s Something Hell’s. They specialise in vintage and Rockabilly cuts and styles. I love having my hair cut here and the way Miss Bettie styles it is phenomenal. She also cuts my hair exactly suited my hair type and volume.
To finish I dragged The Captain into Topshop, a busy experience neither of us enjoyed, because I knew that Bubbleology had opened. I LOVE BUBBLE TEA.
I had White Peach tea with Passionfruit popping boba, it was awesome! The Captain had Kiwi tea with Passionfruit popping boba, it was his first one and he said it was weird but enjoyed it ^_^
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading!
Today I’d like to share my new obession: CLOGS I don’t why they suddenly caught my attention, it wasn’t the first time in my life I’d ever seen clogs; but for some reason I was drawn to them. Well, drawn … Continue reading
Today, on a whim, I decided to try a crown braid. They’re all over Pinterest and blogs and I wondered if it would work on my hair. I’ve washed my hair today so to stop it being too baby soft … Continue reading
Illamasqua Monogamous is a rubber effect nude nail varnish, it’s perfect for creating “mannequin hands”!
I love the rubber effect, it looks so soft, tactile and unusual ^_^ I used Illamasqua Matte top coat to protect it and it didn’t affect the rubber look and helped the colour last.
I found the varnish lasted well for a week with minimal tip wear and no chips!
Have you tried the mannequin hands look?
This year we had a little party for my 3 nephews for Hallowe’en. My elder sister came down with her boys and we all went to my younger sister’s house, it was so much fun to have everyone together!
My youngest nephew, aged 3, (eventually) dressed up in a Dracula costume from Asda. It had a mask and was so cute!
My middle nephew, aged 9, dressed up as a Zombie Gavroche from Les Mis (he is obessed with that film!)!
My eldest nephew, aged 12, has never liked dressing up so he just wore his normal clothes :’-D
My sisters both dressed up as witches and both had neon and black stripey tights! Ha ha! My mum dressed up as a queen witch!
I bought a skeleton onesie from Primark and skeleton socks and gloves from Asda.
For my face I used a mix of Illamasqua Rich Foundation in 115 and Dainty Doll foundation in the lightest shade. For my eyes, nose and cheekbones I used Boots Natural Collection eyeshadow, which worked better than I expected! For my lips/tooth lines I used Barry M in black.
On my nails I used OPI crackle in black over the top of Sleek in meringue. Both of which I picked up at the pound shop!
We had a spooktacular time!
