Illamasqua Monogamous

Illamasqua Monogamous is a rubber effect nude nail varnish, it’s perfect for creating “mannequin hands”!

I love the rubber effect, it looks so soft, tactile and unusual ^_^ I used Illamasqua Matte top coat to protect it and it didn’t affect the rubber look and helped the colour last.

I found the varnish lasted well for a week with minimal tip wear and no chips!

Have you tried the mannequin hands look?

My Hallowe’en effort!

This year we had a little party for my 3 nephews for Hallowe’en. My elder sister came down with her boys and we all went to my younger sister’s house, it was so much fun to have everyone together!

My youngest nephew, aged 3, (eventually) dressed up in a Dracula costume from Asda. It had a mask and was so cute!

My middle nephew, aged 9, dressed up as a Zombie Gavroche from Les Mis (he is obessed with that film!)!

My eldest nephew, aged 12, has never liked dressing up so he just wore his normal clothes :’-D

My sisters both dressed up as witches and both had neon and black stripey tights! Ha ha! My mum dressed up as a queen witch!

I bought a skeleton onesie from Primark and skeleton socks and gloves from Asda.

For my face I used a mix of Illamasqua Rich Foundation in 115 and Dainty Doll foundation in the lightest shade. For my eyes, nose and cheekbones I used Boots Natural Collection eyeshadow, which worked better than I expected! For my lips/tooth lines I used Barry M in black.

On my nails I used OPI crackle in black over the top of Sleek in meringue. Both of which I picked up at the pound shop!

We had a spooktacular time!

OOTD ~ Carry On Paddling! Pt 2

Hi Di Hi campers!
This is my second OOTD from my camping trip to Woolacombe ^_^

Here I am wearing the same Judy sunglasses by Collectif. I had a nightmare the other day that I’d broken them and was so upset! :’-(

On my lips I’m wearing Rimmel’s Apocalips Big Bang, it’s a perfect pillar box red that works so well when going for a retro or vintage style look.

The vest is from Sweaty Betty and the red polka dot bikini that I’m wearing underneath is from Freya – it’s about 6 years old! :-/

The beautiful shorts are by Tara Starlet. They are so comfortable and easy to wear ^_^ I managed to find these on Ebay for a snip; I don’t think I could have bought myself to wear them on the beach if I’d paid the full retail price o_O

I really love this picture, I feel like I achieved the look I was going for and for once I can agree that I look good! The Captain has been away working and when he got back he showed me his phone; he’s set this picture as his lock screen and his wallpaper ^_^ he doesn’t normally do things like that so it bought a big smile to my face {^_^}

Concrete proof of textured nails!

Today I have painted my nails with Nails Inc Concrete textured nail varnish in London Wall. The colour is hard to describe, it’s almost a putty grey colour and I guess it would be on the taupe side of things!

Taken outside without flash

As you can see the texture is very rough and bumpy. I’ve worn this a few times and it always gets mixed reactions, but is intriguing and gets attention! It does feel rough and you have to be careful if you have an itch! I’ve not worn it at the same time as wearing tights; I do think it has the potential to snag.

I have found that this nail varnish wears really well. I don’t use a top coat as this would stop it being matte and even out the texture. As a base coat I used 2 coats of Dr LeWinn’s RenuNail in sensitive. I’ve got to write a post on Dr LeWinn’s RenuNail treatment system and the sensitive maintenance varnish as I have been amazed with the results!!!
Nails Inc Concrete doesn’t chip on me and lasts about a week with minimal tip wear, which I spot touch up.

Sneakily getting my beautiful wedding rings in the picture there 😉
I used to shy away from using grey tones when I had long nails, but for some reason this autumn I’ve changed my mind.

Do you think grey and darker colours suit short nails better?

OOTD ~ Carry On Paddling!

Hello! Thought I’d post my first Outfit Of The Day ~ except the day was late August… Heh heh heh! I’m very proactive and organised…

Here I am wearing an amazing pair of vintage style “Judy” sunglasses from Collectif; they were only £9, have a UV400 rating (really protected my eyes, I’ve since worn them in sunny Spain and they were just as good!), and were the most comfortable glasses I have ever worn! Wish I could put prescription lenses in them ^_^

The playsuit is from Jane Norman, I got this in the sale last summer. I think the belt is also Jane Norman, but I’m not 100%.

The hat and ship necklace are from Accessorize ^_^

I know this outfit isn’t the most practical for the beach but I was too cold to swim so thought I’d dress up instead!

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush Cherub

Sorry about the photo quality, should have taken it in daylight :-/

So, yesterday I tried out this blusher in Flush and loved it! Today I’ve applied the same base (Illamasqua Hydra Veil, Illamasqua Skin Base 2 & No 7 translucent loose powder), and applied Cherub to my apples with my fingers ^_^

I love Cherub just as much as I love Flush! Cherub is softer and more of an everyday colour compared to Flush, which is more striking. Today I felt delicate and feminine °^_^°

Flush is a definite pink, Cherub is a little warmer with slightly coral tones – not too much tho and not orange!

Here’s my face after another long day at work! Here I am wearing Pixi Tint in no 3 Craving Coral on my lips. My top is Primark and my head scarf is by Gobbolino 😀

Which of the blushers do you think suits me best? Hope you enjoyed reading ^_^ xxx
